Project Overview
Mesh Banking is a comprehensive core-banking web application designed to meet the financial needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The app offers functionalities for savings, loans, lending, and a full accounting management system. As the lead designer, I developed over 1000 UI design screens, creating an extensive and user-friendly interface. This project was particularly challenging due to its scope and my relative inexperience in the banking industry.
Process & Approach
The project began with thorough market research and user interviews to understand SMEs' financial needs. Collaborating with stakeholders and financial experts, we defined the key functionalities and user journeys. In the design phase, I focused on creating a scalable and intuitive interface, ensuring each screen met user needs. User testing was critical, involving interactive prototypes and extensive feedback from SME owners and financial managers. This feedback guided iterative refinements to balance complex features with a clean, user-friendly interface.
Collaboration with developers, product managers, and financial experts was essential throughout the project. Regular feedback loops allowed for continuous improvements, ensuring the designs were feasible and aligned with project goals.
Results & Reflection
The Mesh Banking project resulted in a robust core-banking web app that successfully integrates savings, loans, lending, and accounting management for SMEs. Despite the challenges, the project was a significant success, with positive user feedback highlighting the intuitive design and ease of navigation. From this project, I learned the importance of detailed research, user testing, and collaboration in managing complex designs.
Future enhancements could include additional features based on user feedback and emerging financial technologies, ensuring Mesh Banking remains a valuable tool for SMEs.
